The City of Lloydminster is a very unique and vibrant City that straddles the border between Alberta and Saskatchewan. Lloydminster’s claim to fame is “Canada’s Only Border City”. The current population of 25,000 people continues to grow daily due to a dynamic oilfield industry, a strong agricultural community, and a thriving retail sector.

Lloydminster is very proud to be part of the Communities in Bloom program since 2002, and was honored to receive four blooms in 2005 and 5 blooms in 2007. The tremendous support from our business community allows Communities in Bloom to plant and display over 340 flower barrels throughout the City.

Hanging baskets, flower barrels, and a central garden all combine to brighten the downtown area. City Council has plans to beautify the Border Marker intersection in spring of 2008, to create a new Border Marker Park downtown, and to continue to develop commercial and residential land.
